*1. The AFCEA (Armed Forces Communications and Electronics Association) Scholarship - An award of $2,000.00 to outstanding college-bound seniors who are planning to major in computer science, information technology, or engineering curriculums. Applications and further information are available at their website: www.afceahi.org.

2. AIA Maui - The American Institute of Architects Scholarship - Two awards of $3,000.00 will be given --- one to an entering college freshman who is planning on studying architecture, and one to an architectural college student.

*4. The Ayn Rand Essay Contest - One contest is for 9th and 10th graders; the other is for juniors and seniors. The first prize is $10,000.00, with five second prizes of $2,000.00 each. *5. Beta Sigma Phi Scholarship - Two $750.00 awards will be awarded to deserving students whose talents and interests lie in the fields of Music, Art, Hawaiiana, Communications, Education, or Health Care.

6. Binhi At Anhi Scholarship - For outstanding college-bound seniors, this is an award of $1,000.00.

*7. The Herb and Ollie Brook Scholarship - For outstanding college-bound seniors, this is an award of approx. $2,000.00.

*8. The Laura Rowe Burdick Scholarship - For outstanding college-bound seniors, this is also an award of approx. $2,000.00

*9. www.careersandcolleges.com - This is a website that gives access to thousands of scholarships. You need to answer questions and create a profile of yourself first. Then you are sent information about scholarships that fit your profile. It is up to you to write to the various scholarship addresses and request applications. This website used to be called absolutelyscholarships.com, but has expanded into a college search site as well.



*10. The Catrala-Hawaii Scholarship - An award of $2,000.00 to deserving applicants who are planning to major in Travel Industry Management or other Business-related course of study in college.

DEADLINE: April 30, 2007



*11. Educational Communications Scholarship - This is a national scholarship that offers one $6,000.00 award, five $5,000.00 awards, ten $2,500.00 awards, and forty-five $1,000.00 awards.

*13. The Hannemann Scholarship - The Gustav Hannemann Leadership Award for a young man and the Faiaso Soliai Hannemann Leadership Award for a young woman . . . for $500.00 each to outstanding college-bound seniors who are Samoan or part Samoan.

*14. Hawaii Alpha Delta Kappa Omicron Chapter Scholarship - An award of $500.00 to a deserving senior who is planning to major in education.

DEADLINE: May 18, 2007



*15. Hawaii Korean Chamber of Commerce - Is offering three $2,000.00 awards to outstanding college-bound seniors who are at least 50% Korean.

DEADLINE: May 1, 2007



*16. The Harry H. and Lucy R. Holt Scholarship - This award will provide tuition for two years at MCC for a young woman of Hawaiian or part-Hawaiian ethnicity.

DEADLINE: April 30, 2007



*17. Honolulu Community College Scholarships:

The 2007-2008 Promising High School Graduate Scholarship - This award covers the cost of resident tuition for one year (two semesters) for a student who is planning on enrolling at least half-time (six credits). You must take the COMPASS test, and the scores must be submitted with your application.

The Ngo Wong Loo and Man Kwong Loo Memorial Scholarship - For a senior with potential for success in college, this award covers the cost of a year's tuition for a full-time student and is renewable for the second year, as long as the student has a C+ GPA.

*18. Hui Maka'ala Scholarship - Is offering several scholarships between $2,000.00 - $4,000.00 to outstanding college-bound students who have an interest in Okinawan culture.

DEADLINE: April 30, 2007



*19. The David S. Ishii Golf Scholarship - Awards of $2,500.00 to two outstanding male golfers and the same amount to two female golfers. Applicants must be on the golf team and seniors who are planning to attend college in Fall, 2007.

*20. The Italian American Club of Maui - Is sponsoring its two annual scholarships: 1) The Tom Politano Scholarship ($1,500.00), which is open to any senior regardless of ethnicity; 2) The Dr. James V. Vitale Presidential Scholarship ($1,500.00) for seniors of Italian ethnicity.

*21. Japanese Cultural Society of Maui - Is sponsoring a scholarship for an outstanding college-bound senior who has the desire to promote and perpetuate the Japanese culture. The amount of the award wasn't provided.

*22. Kama'aina Scholarships - Sponsored by Hawaiian Island Student Suites, this award is offered to seniors who are planning to attend any post-secondary institution on the island of Oahu. It offers the chance to pay only $300.00 a month rent for one of their apartments while attending school. This is an excellent deal because rents for apartments are extremely expensive. If you are planning to attend school on Oahu and can't or don't want to get into campus housing, this may be the way to go. No deadline date was given. *23. Kamehameha Schools/Bishop Estate Financial Aid - For college-bound students of Hawaiian or Part-Hawaiian ancestry. Go to their website for more information: www.ksbe.edu/finaid/posthigh.php



*24. Korean University Club - A $6,000.00 ($1,500.00 per year) award to students of Korean ancestry who are planning to attend a college or university in the State of Hawaii. No deadline was given, but it would be wise to apply ASAP.



*25. Maui AJA Veterans, Inc. Scholarship - Ten awards of $1,000.00 each will be given to deserving seniors.

*26. Maui Filipino Chamber of Commerce Scholarship - For college-bound seniors of Filipino ancestry, this is an award of $500.00.

DEADLINE: May 7, 2007



27. Monsanto Hawaii Life Sciences Scholarship - Ten awards of $1,000.00 each are being offered to outstanding college-bound seniors who are interested in pursuing a college major in the life sciences, which includes agriculture, agronomy, biology, botany, genetics, horticulture, plant physiology, chemistry, crop science and soil science.

*31. The Society of the Friends of Saint Patrick of Hawaii Scholarship - Up to a maximum of $1,500.00 can be awarded to deserving students.

*32. University of Hawaii Centennial Scholarship - This is a new offering from the UH System. All ten campuses will provide a scholarship of $1,000.00 per year to Hawaii high school graduates who have a 3.8 GPA or 1800 on the three-part SAT Reasoning Test (or the ACT equivalent) and are admitted as full-time freshmen. For freshmen who have both a 3.8 GPA and an 1800 SAT score, they will receive an additional $1,000.00 per year (called the Chancellor's Centennial Scholarship).
